The Nature of Nurture and the Nurture of Nature

Have you ever wondered why, despite our best efforts, certain situations cause us to act like our parents? While we often think of this as a learned behavioral mechanism, new research by Dr. Brian Dias from Emory University points to nature playing a role, suggesting it’s possible some information is biologically inherited through chemical changes that occur in DNA. He came to this conclusion in a study which uncovered the fact that mice can pass on learned information about traumatic or stressful experiences—in this case, a fear of the smell of cherry blossom—to subsequent generations. This provides compelling evidence for the [...]

Navigating the Labyrinth of the Unknown

Does this sound familiar? For months you’ve been focused on a goal or outcome. Every time you sit down to meditate you’re so present with your future that you’re ‘in your future.’ You can smell it, feel it, taste it, touch it, hear it, see it—it’s practically a part of you. It’s a distant-future memory that you’re living into, and in your daily meditations you emotionally invest in how incredible your future will feel. It seems as if it’s in reach, almost tangible, and then—and then comes the day you brush up against it. Your future shows up in your [...]

Entangled Minds

Do you think it’s possible to see images in your dreams if someone is thinking them to you? British psychologists Simon Sherwood and Chris Roe of University College Northhampton say, yes. In 2003, after analyzing 47 separate dream experiments involving 1,270 individual trials, the duo found the overall accuracy in receiving an image was 59.1 percent. According to chance and the science of random event generators, like a coin toss it should have been 50 percent. But according to the odds of the results being chance, the statistics of the experiment were calculated at an astronomical 22 billion to one. [...]

Everybody Dies, But Not Everybody Lives

A lot of people who come to our workshops are very sick. While we’ve witnessed countless miraculous healings, not everyone makes it to the other side of recovery. I say this because recently we’ve lost some beloved members of our community. Many of you attended workshops with these people and formed deep bonds and friendships. Others of you have seen them as true inspirations who caused you to believe in yourself even more. When we lose people we care about we often find ourselves asking, why did someone who possessed such a will to live have to die? Speaking from [...]

Be a Part of Scientific History

It’s hard to refute the fact that we’re living in challenging times; divisive politics, fear mongering, the threat of terrorism, climate change, fluctuations in the stock market…While it’s a time of uncertainty, that doesn’t mean we can’t do anything. Let’s unite to produce a positive effect in the world. It’s now been scientifically proven and validated across 23 studies that peace gathering projects have been known to lower violence, terrorism, war, crime, car accidents, fires, and increase economic growth. That’s why I want to invite you to join a community of more than 7,000 people across the globe as we [...]

Discovery Finds Link Between the Brain and the Immune System

In a stunning discovery made by the University of Virginia’s School of Medicine, researchers have overturned decades of textbook teaching by determining that there is a direct correlation between the brain and the immune system. For years scientists have been trying to correlate the relationship between the two, yet they lacked the evidence to show how our thoughts and feelings (or neurochemistry) could affect our overall health. This groundbreaking finding could have significant implications on our understanding of how the brain and immune system interact, as well as enable scientists to target the immune system for the benefit of the brain. What this correlation hopes to uncover is the understanding of how [...]

Creating Your Future – One Step at a Time

There are four types of meditations that most traditions embrace; seated, standing, walking, and laying down, and in our work we practice all of them. After our workshops, many of our students continue doing their seated meditations at home. They wake up in the morning and the first thing they do is sit down to meditate. This is an ideal way to start the day. But does this sound familiar? You just had a great meditation, felt like you really connected, you overcame an aspect of yourself, and emotionally embraced a new future. You shifted your energy, you’re feeling powerful, [...]

The Greatest Unsolved Mystery—Evolution

Human evolution is perhaps one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries there is. While it’s a scientific fact that we did not evolve from Neanderthal but coexisted with them, something seismic and unexplainable occurred in our evolution somewhere between 250,000 – 300,000 years ago. As animals and species evolved, their brain mass enlarged at the same ratio as their lungs, liver, stomach, and the rest of their physical structure. Most mammals reached the height of their evolution in brain complexity and mass around 250,000 years ago. Early humans should have developed and plateaued at the same rate as other animals [...]

The Magical Language of Serendipity and Synchronicity

All of us, in one way or another, are focused on turning the vision into a reality—landing the dream job, the ideal relationship, the perfect house, a book or record deal, healing an ailment. By focusing your energy on this new potential, experience, or outcome, what you’re actually doing is creating and summoning a new possibility from the quantum field (the place where all possibilities exist) into your life. This action is what creates a new future. If you are truly trusting in a new future, which means you’re open to the unfolding of your life according to its own [...]

Demystifying the Meditation Process

If your meditation practice continuously feels like a herculean effort, and you can’t stop thinking, analyzing, and wondering if you’re doing it right, you’re doing the exact opposite of what you’re trying to accomplish. That’s why I want to demystify the meditation process. The purpose of meditation is to slow down your brain waves and get beyond the thinking, analytical mind. What I want you to understand is that you already know how to do this, because you do it every day. If you can begin your practice with the understanding that all you’re doing is relaxing your body (just [...]
