The end of the calendar year represents the completion of one cycle and the start of another. It’s a time to let go of the past and to free ourselves from that which no longer serves our highest good. To do this, we need to first change our energy, because when we change our energy, we change our lives. As one cycle draws to a close and another begins, here are three simple steps you can take to change your energy and your life. Forgive the past. When beginning a new cycle, forgiveness is especially important. When we forgive, we [...]

When it comes to stepping into the unknown, intellectualizing a process or problem won’t cut it. In fact, I often find it’s the people who perform this kind of incessant analysis who feel the most fear and insecurity when confronted with the unknown. The reason is because they’re constantly analyzing themselves, their actions, and their place in the world within the emotions of fear, lack, insecurity, or unworthiness. If they instead understood that all these feelings are an emotional record of the past, they would understand that the very act of overanalyzing and overthinking means they’re looking for a solution [...]
Everywhere I teach in the world, many people tell me they want to experience the unknown, yet when push comes to shove they want it on their own terms. Here’s the catch—if something comes to you on your own terms, then it’s not an unknown. It’s a predictable known. So, what does it mean to step into the unknown? Everything we create begins with an internal idea, thought, concept, or image, whether it’s health, wealth, a relationship, buying a home, writing a book, composing a song, and so on. For some people, however, when external circumstances (such as serendipity, coincidences, [...]
When most people awake in the morning, they don’t remember their dreams because they jump right back into the program of all the things they need to do that day. They immediately go from delta, which is deep sleep, straight up the brain wave scale to beta, which is thinking and performing tasks. In the process, they don’t have time to slowly transition and gradually climb the ladder of consciousness from delta, to theta, to alpha, to beta. I wanted to give our students enough time to linger in the subconscious states of alpha and theta so that they could [...]
“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love…and then we return home.” – Australian Aboriginal saying Two weeks ago in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, for the first time I officially introduced a lying down meditation. Much to the surprise of our students, it began at 11pm and ended around 7am. When you ask people to sleep on the floor instead of their beds, and you continuously wake them in the middle of the night, naturally they’re not going to be very happy, [...]
If you don’t realize that we’re living in what are overtly challenging times, then you’re probably not paying attention. In the micro sense, it seems everybody I know is going through something on a personal level. In the macro sense, these personal journeys are being exacerbated by threats of nuclear attacks, political breakdowns, financial crises, racial tension, mass shootings, devastating earthquakes, erupting volcanoes, merciless wildfires, storm-of-the-century hurricanes, and more. It is indeed a sign of the times…but I’m not playing the game, and I invite you to do the same. If you believe your thoughts and feelings have an effect [...]
This September we held our 19th and final Advanced Workshop, marking the end of almost five years of scientific testing. Of the 700+ students in attendance at Indian Wells Resort in Palm Springs, California, 82% were first time participants. The group was excited, enthusiastic, willing, and coherent. As a result, the energy we recorded in the room broke all records of our previous workshop measurements. In addition, according to our Sputnik measurements, this particular group’s pineal gland meditation was one of the best ever. As usual, we had volunteer students—interested in furthering scientific discovery—connected to heart-rate-variability monitors to measure heart [...]
Our bodies are made up of approximately 60-100 trillion cells. Every cell contains a nucleus, within which exists our chromosomes. Humans have 23 pair of chromosomes and chromosomes contain genetic information to be passed on called DNA. At the very tip of these chromosomes are tiny little strands of DNA called telomeres—biological clocks buried in our genetic makeup that science previously thought had a finite existence. Every time a human cell divides, it makes a copy of its DNA. The problem with cell division is that DNA replication isn’t perfect and so it skips over the end of each chromosome. [...]
To enter into any relationship, you’d have to agree that the first step is to have the desire to be in a relationship. If your heart is not in the relationship, it’s not going to work because by their very nature, relationships are heart centered. To have a successful relationship, you’d want to be clear on what you want in that relationship, as well as who you are willing to be or become—after all, a relationship is a partnership. It’s a two-way street. In addition, you must believe you are worthy of the relationship you seek, and you must be [...]
When we lose our curiosity and get caught in the same patterns of thinking and feeling—whether we’re talking about the brain, the body, or even reality—we tend to think what we know is what is. But as human beings make new discoveries and realize we don’t know everything, our construct of understanding causes us to think differently, and as a result, we change our scientific model. Such is the case with new research coming out of the Salk Institute and the University of California San Diego. We’ve known for some time that brain cells that store and process information are [...]
